One of the pleasures in life is to take some time to enjoy a good breakfast. I’ve had some days off work this week so I could enjoy a few slow breakfasts like this one.
Un dels plaers de la vida és tenir temps per gaudir d’un bon esmorzar. Aquests dies he tingut unes mini vacances i he aprofitat per fer esmorzars slow, amb calma, com aquest.

I made this garland as a decoration for last year’s Easter. I used washi tape and scrapbooking techniques. Happy Easter!
L’any passat vaig fer aquesta garlanda com a decoració de Pasqua. Vaig utilitzar washi tape i tècniques de scrapbooking. Què tingueu una bona Setmana Santa!

This sweater was a present for Kune, a friend of Tristan. Kune doesn’t like to wear clothes, but I hope this soft merino number changes her mind.
Aquest jersei va ser un regal per a la Kune, una amiga del Tristan. A la Kune no li agrada portar roba, però espero que aquesta peça de llana merino molt suau la faci canviar d’opinió.

Beatriz from MiLana Bonita has given me the Liebster Blog Award!. It’s the first award that this blog gets and it makes me very happy. Beatriz writes a beautiful blog that she defines as “…the way to show my little steps into the yarn world...”, and that I have recently discovered and highly recommend you to read. La Beatriz del bloc MiLana Bonita m’ha otorgat el premi Liebster Blog! És el primer premi que rep aquest bloc i m’ha fet molt feliç. La Beatriz escriu un bloc ple de creativitat i bellesa, que ella defineix com “…la manera de plasmar les meves diminutes passes en el món de la llana…”, i que he descobert recentment. The Festivalet is a crafts fair, that took place on December 15-16, 2012 in Barcelona. Since this year I’ve decided to buy all my Christmas presents in small businesses, local and if possible, handmade, the Festivalet felt like the right place to go. And it was. This is what I bought:
El Festivalet és una fira de productes fets a mà que va tenir lloc el 15 i 16 de desembre de 2012 a Barcelona. Com que aquest any havia decidit comprar tots els regals de Nadal al petit comerç, local i, si fos possible, fet a mà; el Festivalet em va semblar una bona idea. I ho va ser. Això és el que vaig comprar:

I made these as Christmas presents for my mother and my aunt. Every cowl was knitted following the Good morning cowl pattern by Pickles, and was wrapped in a drawstring bag also sewn by me.
Aquests són els regals de Nadal que vaig fer per la meva mare i la meva tieta. Cada coll està teixit seguint el patró del Good morning cowl de Pickles, i va dintre de la bosseta de tela també cosida per mi.
The bags, on the front, have a drawing made by the talented CreaiRiu, with paint for textile. On the back a flower print fabric, each bag one different.
Les bosses pel davant, tenen un dibuix fet amb el gran talent de CreaiRiu amb pintura per a tela. Pel darrere les vaig cosir amb una tela estampada amb flors, cada bossa una tela diferent.

On October 29, I attended a wool tasting, where I got to touch different fibers such as wool, alpaca, cotton, camel hair, linen and silk,… and learn more about them. Very interesting. The event was organized by the girls of Nido de Abeja and De la oveja a la madeja.
El passat 29 d’octubre vaig assistir a una cata de llanes, súper original, a on vaig poder tocar diferents fibres d’origen animal com la llana, l’alpaca, el pél de camell, la seda; i d’altres d’origen vegetal com el cotó i el lli. Va ser molt interessant i vaig aprendre moltes coses noves. La cata va ser organitzada per les noies de Nido de Abeja i De la oveja a la madeja.

The xisqueta sheep is a Catalan race, well adapted to the hard mountain weather, in the Pyrinees mountains. The wool is rustic and very special and, thanks to the good work of the people from Obrador Xisqueta, is used again in different artisanal jobs (natural dyes, traditional spinning, felt,…). The Obrador Xisqueta project is about to value and keep the shepherd work and the different artisanal works around the wool
L’ovella xisqueta és una raça autòctona catalana, molt adaptada al clima dur de muntanya, dels Pirineus. De la xisqueta surt una llana rústica i molt especial que, gràcies a la feina feta per la gent de l’Obrador xisqueta, torna a ser aprofitada, a més de revaloritzar els oficis relacionats amb la llana com el de pastor o el dels artesans de la llana (tintats naturals, filat tradicional, feltre…)
